AUSTIN, TX, July 15, 2011 - The following statement can be attributed to Edgar Figueroa, Chief Executive Officer of the Wi-Fi Alliance: "Given the widespread and still growing use of Wi-Fi devices, additional unlicensed spectrum in the 5 GHz band would be very beneficial to consumers and business users," said Wi-Fi Alliance CEO Edgar Figueroa.  "We applaud Rep. Matsui's proposal for further study of the 5 GHz band in consideration of expanding the available footprint."
