Anno brings over 10 years of UHF RFID development and leadership experience to the table. In his new role, Anno will be responsible for building and leading the new RFID IC development team in San Jose. The new North American based team will focus on ultra-low power tag IC architecture, fast non-volatile memories and design collaboration whilst NXP's European RFID team will concentrate on propeling frequency agnostic and applications focused “Best-in-Class” offerings to a whole new level of RFID performance.
Recently market research experts of ABI Research forecasted a compound annual growth rate of >33% for the global RFID market. Specifically, the areas of retail/apparel and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FCMG) see strong market demand as retailers and brand owners are realizing the added value provided by RFID applications: improved control of the supply chain, optimized inventory and replenishment processes and increased brand protection.
By investing in a highly experienced RFID development team in San Jose, NXP continues to further improve its tag IC portfolio. Advanced HF and UHF ICs introduced in 2011 have propelled NXP to a new performance level, with offerings which cover cost sensitive requirements to highly featured solutions. Based on its unique complete RFID product portfolio (LF, HF, UHF, NFC) NXP is able to provide multi-applications without compromising on frequency or performance.
