Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ), founded in March 1985, promoted by the major semiconductor equipment manufacturers, is a nationwide organization of semiconductor manufacturing and flat panel display (FPD) panel manufacturing equipment manufacturers and related equipment manufacturers.

On July 3, 1995, the year in celebration of the 10th anniversary of its founding, SEAJ restarted as public service corporation, obtaining an authorization from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.

The Japanese semiconductor and FPD panel manufacturing equipment industry is playing a supporting role of the world's semiconductor industry, manufacture of semiconductors and FPD panels that lay the foundation of the advanced information oriented industries, by supplying manufacturing equipment, the indispensable capital goods to the semiconductor industry, to home and abroad.

With the development of the industries, in order to promote sound development of the semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry and other related industries, SEAJ is actively involved in a wide range of activities such as statistical researches, investigative researches of imperatives and new technologies relating to the industry, conducting of various seminars and lectures, and promotion of standardization.
